About Spatial Data


Spatial data identifies the geographic location of features and boundaries of the Earth. Spatial data is accessed, manipulated, analyzed and/or mapped using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Available GIS Software Tools

U. of Lethbridge Library computers are equipped with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS ArcInfoWorkstation. Computers are located on levels 9, 10, and 11 of the Library.

GIS software is also installed on the computers in the E6, AH, B7, and Atrium Study Center Computer Lab. These computers are accessible during regular computer lab hours.

Batchgeo is a free and easy-to-use tool for geocoding and creating Google maps with spreadsheet-type data.
